Electrochemical & Electrical Analysis

Current–Voltage Characteristics (IV)

Measures how electrical current varies with applied voltage across a material or device. Used to evaluate conductivity, resistance, and performance of electronic and photovoltaic devices.

Electrical network of nodes and links

What the measurement provides

  • Current–voltage behavior
  • Conductivity and resistance information
  • Device performance for electronic and photovoltaic samples

Sample requirements

  • State the nature of the sample (for example hazardous, volatile, or explosive).
  • Only film samples with dimensions of at least 1.5 cm × 1.5 cm are acceptable.

The official proforma is titled IV/PV Analysis. The published rate line is Current-Voltage Characteristics (IV).
