Thermal & Structural Analysis

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)

Measures the difference in heat required to change the temperature of a sample and a reference. Endothermic or exothermic peaks mark phase transitions such as melting, crystallization, glass transitions, and curing reactions.

Differential scanning calorimeter

What the measurement provides

  • Melting and crystallization
  • Glass transitions
  • Curing reactions
  • Thermal properties and processing windows

Sample requirements

  • Samples must be non-explosive.
  • Minimum sample quantity: 0.1 g, in an Eppendorf tube placed in a ziplock bag.
  • Only solid, powder, or sheet-form samples are acceptable.
  • State temperature range (°C), environment (air / N₂ / Ar), and any other requirement.

Temperature range and atmosphere are required on the proforma.
